Timber sash window installation in London

Our latest timber sash replacement window project was in the Harringay area of north London. Our client had recently moved to the area and after purchasing the property a new roof, new heating system and replacement windows were a priority.

The first point of contact was via our website and a consultation was scheduled by a member of the office to meet and discuss various options for the rear windows. The client also wanted to change her old timber French doors leading into the garden to timber with a panelled detail section at the bottom and an opening fan window above.

Whilst on the sales visit the client mentioned she was having the front windows replaced in timber with a quotation agreed by a supplier. Our sales representative offered to show the client our timber brochure and pictures from some of our recent timber installations with a view to offering a no obligation quote to try and better the original price she had received.

With the dimensions and specifics taken now for the both the front and rear windows our sales representative went away to accurately cost the windows required. A proposal was sent along with many production photos showing the complete process in which our timber sash windows are constructed and painted.

Huge savings!

As a result, Enfield Windows were able to save the client over a thousand pounds INCLUDING the three additional rear windows and the French door in the price!

A further visit to the showroom was arranged where the client requested to view the windows she would be purchasing for the front aspect of the property.
Once the order was confirmed the survey was scheduled to take the final and accurate dimensions for manufacturing. With only a six week lead time an installation date was agreed and the all the windows were installed over a five day period.

We are happy to say that the client was thrilled with her new windows and the service provided by Enfield Windows.

Sash timber window installation london

Sash timber window installation in Walthamstow, London.

One of our recent installations was to restore the character of a property undergoing a complete refurbishment in the Walthamstow area in London.

The style and level of refurbishment of the property warranted traditional sash style windows. The builder searched online for traditional timber style sash windows then arranged to meet our installations manager in the showroom to view our timber window range.

After approving the quality of finish and learning more from our staff about the process in which our timber sash windows are manufactured, the dimensions were given and a quotation was put into place.

All of our timber products come with a ten year warranty. This warranty covers not only the installation and hardware, but also unlike many other timber suppliers such is the advanced quality of finish we also are able to offer a ten year warranty on the paint!

In total the order was agreed for seven hardwood timber sash windows all to be installed at the front of the property. The furniture choice was satin chrome and all internal architraves and trims were factory finished.

The installation took place over three days where our installers worked at a pace to ensure the installation was carried out diligently and professionally.

As you can see, the windows installed surpassed the client’s expectations. The photos show how spending a little more when choosing your new windows can help play a massive part in complementing the property and bringing back the original character.

Timber sash and casement windows

Enfield windows recently undertook a project in the Finsbury Park area of London.

The client was refurbishing a large town house which also required new timber windows. After visiting our website they arranged a visit to our showroom. There, we discussed the various options available and the numerous benefits our hardwood window range offer.

After the plans for the project were sent to us, we were able to form an accurate and competitive proposal. The project consisted of thirteen timber sash windows, one timber casement window and French doors in RAL colour 9001. (An attractive cream)

With every timber project we undertake, liaising with our manufacturing partners is a key part of our success, every detail is planned and accurately executed. We offer clients the option of taking a small section of architrave from the original windows in the property to use for a near perfect match when producing the new factory finished trims. Often the window architraves will match with the existing internal door frames.

The character of a property and its heart often lies in the original door and window frames so keeping them accurately replicated is part of the attraction when using timber. With the added benefits of energy efficiency, safety and security, timber windows are becoming more and more popular around the London area.

 Installation

After our proposal was agreed, Enfield windows completed a detailed contract and a survey was booked. We made templates for all of the three front arched windows and sent these to our manufacturers. This ensures a perfectly accurate fit.

During the surveying process we often take various key photographs and specific details to create a file that contains all the information we need. This ensures every department within the company from ordering, manufacturing and installations are fully informed at every stage.

The installation was scheduled over six days with four installers on site to help. Having a large team of installers helps when some of the larger windows weighed in excess of 150kg.

As the pictures show, the new timber sash windows add a large part of the character to the now fully restored property. The clients were thrilled with their new timber windows and also commented on the additional warmth in every room and reduction in outside noise the new double glazed windows offer.

Timber sash and casement window installation

One of Enfield Windows recent installations was in the north Finchley area of London.

The customer was looking to completely overhaul the front of their property and decided to replicate the original windows with ‘like for like’ timber casements and vertical sliding sash windows.

Our timber in brief.

Enfield Windows timber products are amongst the best within their sector. We are proud to offer the latest in timber technology. All our frames are cross grained and are made up by using glued timber sections that are proven to resist warping, twisting and swelling. This also adds greater strength and durability.

Every window and door is factory finished with multiple levels of treatment and protection. The first layer is the fungal treatment that is moisture regulating and provides an adhesive surface for subsequent treatments with finishing paints and wood stains. There are then four primer coats and a further three coats of micro porous paint.

The finished result is a perfectly finished stunning window that cannot be replicated by onsite painting and staining. This is something that is standard practice with lesser quality timber products.

Both our sash and timber casements windows offer a 24mm argon filled double glazed unit offering warmth and security. We also have a large range of modern or contemporary furniture for whichever style suits your home.

The Project.

The first floor bathroom and three part bay were both to be casement windows with an arched sash design to match the originals. Along with the decorative timber heads we also replaced the lead flashing under the front bay sill. Downstairs, the front lounge bay was replicated with traditional timber hardwood sliding sashes. You can see in the before and after picture what an impact these elegant windows make at the front of the property.

Installation.

The installation took place over three days with the project running smoothly. As the pictures show, along with the re-painted rendering and tiles, the house now is a beautiful example of how the appearance of a home can be completely rejuvenated by choosing replacement timber windows.
