Sash window and composite door installation in Brent, north London
Enfield Windows recently installed new sash windows and a front door to a property in the Brent area of north London.
The client, who resides abroad and is renting out the property, decided to look into changing the original draughty timber sash windows that were in much need of replacing.
After receiving higher quotations than anticipated from the larger less personable national companies they began another online search client and came across our website.
After browsing through our recent blogs page and our reviews, she decided to call for a free no obligation quotation. An appointment was made to visit the address and take the necessary dimensions to provide a quote based on the exact requirements.
One of the client’s main concerns was to keep the original appearance of the property, using a high-quality uPVC sash window. Our Ultimate range offers atheistic details other uPVC sash windows cannot; all the joins are mechanically formed, whereas typical uPVC sash windows are welded leaving a clear diagonal line on every meeting point.
Regarding the sightlines or meeting points of the Ultimate range, the two sashes are up to 20mm thinner than the typical uPVC sash windows. This, with the added timber grained finish, gives the impression of an authentic timber window.
The front door was a Solidor composite door made using a high-grade weather resistant layer but formed with multiple timber cored layers giving strength, weight and added security.
After the detailed quotation had been sent over, the order was agreed upon. A stipulation due to the client’s absence was to email pictures of the finished windows upon paying the final balance.
The colour and style of the front door was designed on Solidor’s online designer system.
During the production process of three weeks, the order was booked in with the tenants to be carried out over a three-day period.
As the above before and after pictures show, the property has had a complete facelift.
The tenants and client were highly pleased with the quality of workmanship our installers provided during the installation.
Our team were approached by a further two properties along the road, and we are now providing quotations.
Flush casement windows, front composite door and rear bifolding doors installation in north London
Our most recent installation was carried out in Winchmore Hill, north London. After searching online, the client approached Enfield Windows looking to change the both the windows and doors at the front of their property, and add doors to the new rear extension.
The products required for the rear were to be Anthracite Grey RAL 7016 Bi-folding doors and for the front uPVC windows and a composite front door.
After looking around at many companies which offer various styles, the client impressed with the flush casement windows we supply and install.
These windows give properties within this period more character than the typical uPVC windows on the market. From outside, the appearance of these frames are completely flush as would the originals had been. Also, from a price point over the Residence 9 Windows and timber windows, the cost is considerably cheaper while still offering all the thermal efficiency and security you would come to expect.
For the bi-folding doors, due to the large width of the new extension, the client opted for a five-part system over a six door configuration. This provides more glass space while also enabling easier day to day use that people commonly look for when choosing bi-fold doors.
Our aluminium bifolding doors come with a no quibble twenty-year manufacturers warranty on all working parts, giving you complete confidence in the product and of course, peace of mind.
The composite front door was selected from the Solidor range, a beautiful door with a timber constructed core. This timber core offers not only strength and durability, but the weight also gives a feel of quality over foam filled doors.
Once the cost was agreed and contract finalised the survey was booked. After the survey, the order passed to the Operations Manager who placed the order for manufacturing.
Installation
During the manufacturing process, the installation was booked in to be carried out over four days. Our skilled in-house installers carried out the installation and as the pictures show the windows and doors improved the appearance of the property.

Origin Bifold doors, windows and Masterdor installation north London
Another recent installation by Enfield windows was in the North London area. We were recommended to the customer by the prestigious high-end building company, A&R Designs.
The brief for A&R Designs was to create a contemporary modern extension using high quality products throughout. Enfield Windows were first invited to the property to examine the initial requirements and to understand exactly what the client wanted to achieve.
At the rear of the property, the client wanted a large four-part set of Origin Aluminium bifold doors, opening up into the garden. They also wanted three Origin windows running down the side access, which were all part of the new extension.
In the hallway, to keep in tune with the original theme, the client opted to use the Residence 9 Window, a stunning timber replica totally maintenance free while not compromising on the features you would expect from a traditional looking window.
The internal front door was to be replaced using the Masterdor, an engineered factory finished timber door. This product is fast becoming the new alternative to uPVC composite doors.
The measurements were taken, and a fully detailed quotation was sent within 48 hrs.
The client accepted our competitive quote. They then visited the showroom to view all the products and get a firm feel for the quality each item offered.
While at the showroom the client had decided to install the Origin blinds. These are electronically operated blinds and are a great addition to any Origin product. Controlled using a compact remote, they can function independently or in tandem. They not only offer shade and privacy but add a real wow factor to any windows or doors and come in over 200 fabric ranges ensuring a match for any scheme.

Conservation approved and thermally efficient, this window is truly a stunning example of the how far the uPVC window has evolved. Double glazing in Cuffley
Enfield windows most recent installation took place in Cuffley, Hertfordshire.
We were recommended to the client by the local estate agents, James Haywards, who are one of Enfield’s leading and most respected agents.
The client had recently moved into a property and wanted to replace the old timber and aluminium window frames and front door with new UPVC material and give the facade a complete makeover. The client’s desired option was white UPVC frames with equal sight lines and square leaded glass.
Our UPVC windows offer the very best in security. Every opening window comes with a ten multi-point locking system using arguably the country’s leading brand, Yale. With the inclusion of A-rated argon filled glass and a “Q-lon” gasket system, the Duraflex profile offer more details and specifications than many other profiles that flood the current market.

Residence 9 Window installation in Enfield, north London
One of Enfield Windows most recent projects was to replace all the windows in the house from original timber casement windows to a maintenance free window system. The client was aware of the Residence 9 window, a product relatively new to the industry.
Residence 9 (R9) offer a specialist frame that allows consumers to replicate the original look of timber casement windows but with a highly efficient, secure and maintenance free product. Such is the detail of the R9 windows they have been awarded with Conservation Approval. This means they can be used in homes where other uPVC windows would have been forbidden.
Unlike the mass produced uPVC systems produced by machinery, every R9 frame is bespoke and hand made from the frame to the glazing beads which is what gives these windows the look of a traditionally hand crafted window.
The project
For the windows the customer decided on white grain internally and externally with white gaskets and Georgian fan lights to match the original windows. The front door was from the Solidor range and the central glass was made bespoke to match the original front door. Photos of each unit were sent to our stained glass suppliers who replicated the originals to perfection as you can see in the pictures.
Installation
The installation was carried out over four days during which time we carefully installed the windows to the highest standard. A further site visit was made to install the front door glass once it was completed from the suppliers. As a whole, the job ran smoothly from start to finish and as the finished pictures show the house now looks exactly how it did originally. However it now has added benefits of the warmth that the nine chambered “A rated” Residence 9 windows offer, and of course the paint free maintenance and security.
Composite door installation in London
Enfield Windows recently replaced the front entrance door to a property in the Enfield area of north London.
The client wanted to replace the current door using a similar design but with a more contemporary colour that was also maintenance free. This also gave the newly refurbished property the best in security with a Solidoor “Secured by Design” accreditation and advanced locking systems.
Design
After looking at the many colour ranges we have in our showroom, the Anthracite grey was the colour the client wanted to use. To add to the door leaf, the frame was also to be matched in anthracite grey, with chrome letter box handles and Urn knocker. The final choice was deciding on the glazed arch section and rather than go for a simple obscure glazing design the owner’s door number was etched into the glass with a satin background.
Installation
The order was placed and processed within two weeks. The installation took place and was completed on a Saturday morning, taking around four hours to complete. As the pictures show the transformation is clear. A modern composite door with a beautiful finish and advanced security.
Solidor front door and timber window installation north London
Enfield windows recently replaced the windows and doors at a property in north London.
The client’s intention was to replace the wooden windows and doors in their home that had been installed when the property was originally built. The client was restricted to using a dark frame to incorporate it with other properties within the development. The client also wanted to replicate the original frames without using the typical uPVC wood grain effect window.
After visiting our showroom we arranged a convenient time and date for a sales appointment where we went through the options available and discussed what products we offered that best suited their home.
It was soon clear that our Hardwood Timber Window range was the preferred option to use for the windows and French doors. Although being more expensive than uPVC, our Timber range gives customers the option to replicate not only the design but also a perfect colour match which was a key point for the client from the outset. The colour for the exterior was picked from our sample board of stained finishes and in this case the dark Walnut stain suited perfectly. A white finish was decided internally to keep the rooms and areas around the windows feeling light and airy.
For the front door we decided on a Solidor composite door, a range of stunning internal cored timber doors with the added benefit of a composite external skin making them completely maintenance free. It is also one of the most secure front doors on the market. The style chosen was the Tenby 4, and glazed with the reflection pattern. The door’s furniture consisted of a Doctor Knocker with Victorian pull knob and the handle free thumb turn system, all in chrome finish.
Order processing and surveying
Once the contract details were confirmed we placed the order. Our surveyor spends time meticulously checking over every window and door to ensure the measurements are accurate and can be installed with the minimal disruption. Any trim or additional non stock materials that may be needed are also noted during this process.
When the survey is complete the order is then ready to be placed after confirmation from our manufacturer. The contract is then passed over to the installation team where the delivery date and installations date are finalised. The typical lead time for bespoke, hand crafted timber windows is eight weeks from point of order with the Solidor product lead time of ten days.
Installation
The installation and schedule of works was spread over four days which gave the installers sufficient time to move around the property with minimal disruption. There was also be frequent site visits from a member of the installations department to ensure everything was going to plan and ensure peace of mind for the customer.
This is a key part of our commitment to offer the best level of customer support from start to finish. Should any questions or miss-communication arise during an installation they can be swiftly dealt.
Conclusion
As you can see in the pictures the installation was a credit to the company. From the sleek new flush casement windows to the stunning composite door, the products installed have given the house new life and made it stand out from the surrounding properties.
