Outstanding new windows and doors installation in Barnet, North London
Enfield Windows are proud to share details of this stunning refurbishment project in Barnet, North London, which has made the house one of the most talked-about homes on the street.
We were tasked to complete a full installation of windows and doors throughout the property, including a set of Origin bi-folding doors running the entire width of the rear of the house, leading on to the garden.
Our clients made contact through our website link and we arranged for a sales rep to visit the property and discuss the project. In addition to the new bi-fold doors, bay windows to the front and numerous windows around the property needed to be replaced.
Bold colour scheme
One of the first decisions our clients made was to steer away from ordering the typical white uPVC window frames. Instead, they wanted a bold new look using Anthracite Grey, to set against the clean external render and really make the windows stand out.
The frames chosen were Flush Frame with Graff Wield mitre joints, which are now one of the most popular choices for replacement windows. The design gives the frame a smooth flush finish and replicates the aesthetics of original timber windows.
To enhance the flush window product the Graff Wield system forms a seamless pencil line joint to every mitre, making this finish flat and consistent throughout. By contrast, the alternative STD uPVC Casement joints are formed leaving a 3mm groove, which can be less pleasing on the eye.
Survey and installation
After the quotation was accepted our contract was drawn up itemizing every window and door, along with its individual specification. The survey was booked soon after payment of a 25% deposit and our own in-house surveyor carried out a full survey ready for ordering. Our team of installers successfully carried out the work over five days, leaving the new frames ready for the plastering and rendering team to follow on.
