Flush uPVC windows and Origin bifold doors installation in Winchmore Hill, North London

We have written before on this blog about the importance of “kerb appeal” when selling a property – or just to impress the neighbours with the best-looking house in the street! And to get the best effect you need top-end replacement UPVC windows and aluminium doors, as supplied by Enfield Windows.

We recently completed work on this handsome semi-detached property in Winchmore Hill, N21, an area which lends itself to higher quality materials over the typical mass- produced replacements.

Homeowners are faced with a wide range of options in today’s market and one of the most popular choices is the flush window system. These are made with a raised profile which display the position of openers, but without the plainer look of traditional UPVC windows.

Frames look like timber

The flush flat external finish looks much more like the original timber frames that are being removed, while not compromising on the thermal efficiency of their replacements. On this job the client opted for the flush design at the front of the house and traditional frames at the rear.

Here, there were also two sets of glazed doors to replace, one set in the top floor loft extension and the other on the ground floor, opening into the garden. At the top, our client opted for Origin bi-fold doors in the popular colour Anthracite Grey 7016. This was a great choice, as bi-folds can be opened either partially, or for the entire width of the window space on a warm summer day.  On the ground floor, the choice was to install traditional white gloss Origin French doors in the bay window section leading into the garden.

Top-to-bottom replacement

The installation work began, as is customary, on the higher floors, to prevent any falling debris damaging new windows. The loft extension doors were completed first, followed by the upper front and rear bay windows, then the garden French doors and finally the front ground floor bay window.

This was a major task with a lot of work to get right, but Enfield Windows’ professional installation team completed the job in four days, to the delight of our client, who now has a smart looking home with all the benefits of secure and energy-efficient windows and doors.
