Impressive timber window installation in Chingford, North London

Here at Enfield Windows we take pride in merging the very best of traditional style with all the convenience of modern materials. This lovely property in the Chingford area is a great example of how we go about it.

Our clients were wanting to replace their timber windows to give better security and insulation. But they were determined to keep the same “look” as the originals. This is something we specialise in, so we couldn’t wait to get started.

The owners of the house found us the same way that most of our clients do – through an internet search – and we quickly arranged a home visit to discuss their requirements and explain our products.

Attention to detail

A total of seven windows and frames needed replacing, including the construction of replicas of the original stained glass design in the fanlights. In addition, on the lower three-part front window a decorative internal panel was required to match the original.

Our sales ethos at Enfield Windows is to listen carefully to what the client requires, introduce our product range and work on the quotation back at our offices. Once we have finalised all the details a full quotation is sent via email for the client to study in their own time without hassle from us.

Gone are the days of sales-pressured home visits trying to sign up clients in a rush. We quote sensibly, competitively and fairly, allowing clients time to make their choice.

Showroom visit arranged

After the quotation, our clients generally visit our showroom to view the items listed and to get a feel for the quality and finish of the materials. This is also an opportunity for clients to make any amendments or additions. When everything is settled it is time to proceed and place an order.

Our installers do not work on a schedule of rates scheme, which many of our rival companies do, as we find this gives the installers the time they need to give the best service to the client with a top quality level of finish and detail.

A couple of days after the contract was signed our in-house surveyor visited our clients in Chingford for a full site survey, carefully taking all the measurements and noting all the special requirements ready for the ordering process.

Frames and glass manufactured

The lead time for timber windows is eight weeks from order sign off. During this period the bespoke timber windows are constructed from lengths of engineered hardwood using state of the art machinery. The new window frames are then spray painted with several layers of primer and microporous paints in airtight booths.

While that is happening we arrange construction of the glazing ready for installation. All of the stained glass we supply and install is made using the very best original patterns, colours and textured glass. This is generally a three-week process, so the glass is ready to be fitted when the frames are complete.
